Humanitarian mission diary: Maria Aolide Tonin

Despite 25 years of departures and returns, the emotion is always present. The organization of the trip and the visas still cause anxiety. But what’s especially anxiety-inducing is “I’ll take this, and this too, but also that and the other thing,” to not forget the small necessities but also the little joys of a gift for young and old alike. We feel deeply the impossibility of sending humanitarian containers as we have always done until 2019. Nigeria demands duties even on humanitarian aid, which is unacceptable and unjust. We are fighting for an exemption, but it seems like a Herculean task!!! However, the May mission was an extremely successful health mission.
