The 17 days I was in Ngugo were very eventful. In those days, the group of trainers of the "Growing Together" project did their very valuable work: play therapy with the youngest children of Happy Home; training work with teachers, and observation of classroom dynamics in various schools.
At the same time, my colleague Ida Manzi and I have established relationships with the children financially supported by Italians and their families, and we have got Happy Home ready for the imminent arrival of the container with clothes, toys, bicycles, books and many other things for the children.
In più, è stata ripristinata laHappy Home Library, la biblioteca per i bambini, dando la gestione ad un gruppo di ragazze tra 15-17 anni. Si spera che la biblioteca cresca, con la donazione dei libri in lingua inglese, e che diventi un posto tranquillo dove i ragazzi possono prendere libri in prestito da consultare o da leggere li. Tutto con lo scopo di incoraggiare la lettura sin dalla piccola età e allargare gli orizzonti di chi legge.
